Sorority Recruitment Outfit Guide

If you're reading this, then you will be going through rush! YAY! Make sure you check out my complete sorority recruitment guide before you read through this because it will answer some FAQ's about rush as a whole! Now onto the fun part of recruitment, the outfits!

Yes that is me when I went through recruitment and I do not regret what I wore! Wear what YOU want to wear and how you want to present yourself. It's no secret that I love Lilly, so that's what I wore! Listed below is a general description of each round and what was suggested to me to wear by my Panhellenic Council. Every school is different, but this should give you some ideas when you are planning out your outfits!

Also note, with every round, the outfits tend to get a little dressier. You'll start off very casual and end with cocktail style dresses!

Round One

Day One: Panhellenic T-Shirt, Lilly Pulitzer Skort (similar), Tory Burch Sandals | Day Two: Panhellenic T-Shirt, J Crew Shorts (similar), Tory Burch Sandals, Kendra Scott Earrings

Round One is going to be quick and you'll have to visit every single chapter. So not too many breaks this round. Comfortable walking shoes are advised and you will most likely be given a t-shirt to wear this round, so you will only need to worry about bottoms! I would recommend cute shorts that are breathable or skort/skirt with a statement necklace and stud earrings!

Round Two

Day Three: Lilly Pulitzer Romper (similar), Jack Rogers Sandals, Kendra Scott Earrings | Day Four: Lilly Pulitzer Top (similar), Lilly Pulitzer Skort (similar), Tory Burch Sandals, Lilly Pulitzer Earrings (similar)

Round Two is Philanthropy Round. You'll go to less chapters, so you can wear heeled sandals if you'd like. You'll get more breaks, which is a plus! I wore a romper one day and a top/skort outfit the next! I would suggest summery rompers, two piece sets, or comfortable sundresses with sandals!

Round Three

Day Five: Lilly Pulitzer Shift (similar), Sperry Wedges (similar), Kendra Scott Earrings

This is sisterhood round and you'll probably watch a video showcasing the chapter's sisterhood! A little more dressy, I think of it as what you would wear to a summer wedding! I recommend breaking out the wedges for this round, but wear sandals to walk around in and slip on your wedges right before you enter the party! I wore a shift dress, but you can wear trendy dresses that are a little dressy!

Preference Night

Day Six: Lilly Pulitzer Dress (similar) and Steve Madden Wedges

Preference night is the most important night of rush. It will be intimate and you'll get a glimpse of what a chapter's ritual is like. I would recommend cocktail party dresses. Nothing too fancy, but something you'd wear to a nice dinner or formal event. Heels or wedges are advised, but definitely pack sandals to wear in between parties. You'll go to a max of three houses this round, so you'll definitely have down time to give your feet a break!

Jewelry

As far as jewelry goes, stick with one statement piece and leave everything else delicate. If you wear big statement earrings, go with small bracelets and a pendent necklace. If you choose to wear a statement necklace, go with stud earrings! My one recommendation is wear something the same each round. For example, I wore my monogram necklace every single day and it was something that people could remember about me.

Hair

I would suggest styling your hair how you typically would on a normal occasion. So I typically curl my hair, so I curled it every round! A good piece of advice told to me before rush was to wear your hair the same everyday, so it is easier to recognize you! A girl may rush you twice, so it'll be nice if they recognize you and remember how awesome you are!

Good luck and I hope this post helped! If I missed something, feel free to leave a comment below and I'll add it to the post! Go Greek!

  4. Really liked the way you were looking in that multi-color dress in Round Three. My cousin is throwing her birthday party at a venue Houston TX and I was confused about my dress selection. Came across your post and seems to have solved my problem.
